Web3D Consortium is a nonprofit member-funded industry organization that develops and maintains the X3D, VRML, and H-Anim international standards.These are 3D graphics file formats and run-time specifications for 3D on the Web. X3D is open, royalty-free, extensible, interoperable, and runs on all platforms including desktops, tablets, and phones. Web3D Consortium members span from business, academia and government. Our members work together to produce ISO-ratified capabilities for the delivery of cutting-edge 3D platforms and applications. The Consortium works closely with the ISO, MPEG, OGC, DICOM and W3C organizations to maximize opportunities for its members.
