Web3D Consortium (http://www.web3d.org) and ACM SIGGRAPH will showcase interactive and immersive 3D solutions at Web3D 2016/22-24 July (http://www.web3d2016.org) and SIGGRAPH 2016/25-28 July (http://s2016.siggraph.org) in Anaheim, California. Prepare to be amazed by the depth and breadth of this Web3D graphics community. This year’s theme “3D for All” emphasizes the importance of 3D graphics and printing, including virtual and augmented reality for use in various application domains, including: industry, medicine, entertainment, education, social interactions, and geographical information systems.

Web3D 2016 Conference is a major event which unites researchers, developers, entrepreneurs, experimenters, artists and content creators in a dynamic learning environment. Attendees share and explore methods of using, enhancing and creating new 3D Web and Multimedia technologies technologies. Conference Program (www.web3d2016.org/program) brings its signature top-quality Papers, Tutorials, Workshops, Panel Session and Showcase all into one action-packed weekend. From web publishing and 3D printing of content from CAD to cultural heritage, medical, geospatial data and virtual reality, join us as we build the next web!

Web3D 2016 is co-located with SIGGRAPH,  the largest annual conference for interactive computer graphics. Come Visit us on the show floor in Booth 755 . Network with leading Web3D technologists and join the efforts to build the open, standard, royalty free 3D Web. Web3D Consortium membe and partner,  Fraunhofer IGD (https://www.igd.fraunhofer.de/en) and other Web3D members will demonstrate industrial-strength X3D software and applications.  See the latest X3D technology and demos. You won’t believe it’s all real time, interactive, immersive and running without plugins!  More X3D technology and applications will be showcased in our multiple SIGGRAPH Birds of the Feather sessions including:  Computer Aided Design (CAD), Medical Visualization, Humanoid animation (H-Anim), Cultural Heritage and Geospatial Web. More information on all Web3D events at SIGGRAPH 2016 is available here (http://www.web3d.org/siggraph2016).

The open standard Extensible 3D (X3D) Graphics Standard (http://www.web3d.org/x3d/what-x3d) provides a robust and durable medium for implementation of multimedia 3D systems on the Web. Web data-integration capabilities and a rich set of componentized features for X3D are steadily expanding.  Robust, cross-platform web applications again prove that X3D is a compelling, interoperable technology ranging from mobile devices to interactive networked virtual environments to large-scale CAVE displays.

X3D is the leading royalty-free standard and run-time architecture to communicate 3D scenes on the Web. We are open to all:  companies, universities, agencies and individuals are welcome to join the Web3D Consortium and contribute to the standard. We look forward to your participation. Meet up at SIGGRAPH 2016 for this great opportunity to learn more and get involved!  There has never been a better time to join the Consortium (http://www.web3d.org/join) and build 3D into the future Web.

About Us
