With more than 1,500 static-3D and temporal-3D (4D) cameras supplied worldwide, 3dMD is the most widely used 3D camera for human subject applications that demand anatomical image precision including healthcare, wearable technologies/apparel, anthropometric/human factor, and security. Combining subject workflow efficiencies with the ability to generate a 3D sequence of high-quality motion images of the full body, head, face, foot, and/or hand, 3dMD supports many innovations from clinical findings and facial recognition to the creation of new wearable technologies that precisely adapt to a person’s shape and enhance performance.

 

Ajou University, established in 1973 under the motto of "Asia's best university for the 21st century", is a leading research university with 10 colleges in Korea.  Ajou University activities include design and modeling of high-fidelity facial animation for the Humanoid Animation (H-Anim).

Since its establishment on September 27, 1951 as Cheongju Junior Agriculture College, Chungbuk National University comes to celebrate its 64th opening anniversary this year. The founding of Chungbuk National University resulted from the hope of the whole residents, providing higher education demanded by the community, even though through the Korean civil war. CSIRO, Austrailia's  Natural Heritage group is focused on the development of examples, best practices and new techniques to capture, archive and distribute 3D representations of natural (biological) objects.  Seeking to model, preserve and communicate the visual and informational aspects of 3D objects holding historical and intellectual interest.

ETRI, Korea is a non-profit government-funded research institute. ETRI contributes to the nation’s economic and social development through research, development and distribution of industrial core technologies in the field of Information, Communications, Electronics, Broadcasting and Convergence technologies. ETRI is one of the leading research institutes in wireless communication domain with more than 2500 patents filed.

Web3D Consortium partnership is important to ETRI for its ISO international standardization efforts on 3D Printing and Scanning. As the ISO JTC 1 WG 12 on 3D Printing and scanning evolves, collaboration with Web3D Consortium's WG Design, Printing and Scanning (DPS) will help advance this effort. The expertise of the Web3D Consortium DSP WG and the close association between JTC 1 SC 24 and Web3D Consortium will further benefit ISO standardization of 3D Printing and Scanning initiative. 

 

 

The Image Processing (IP) Research Department contributes in the fields of:

  • Adaptation of coding schemes to transmission protocols and methods
  • Implementation of hardware and software components
  • Development of interactive services and applications based front edge technologies
  • Integration of real and virtual worlds for immersive multimedia applications.

The Center of Excellence in C4I at George Mason University is the nation's first and only civilian university-based entity offering a comprehensive academic and research program in military applications of information technology. The center performs research in sensing and fusion, C3 architectures, communications and signal processing, command support and intelligent systems, modeling and simulation, and information systems. The center is allied with multiple academic departments, including Computer Science, Electrical/Computer/Telecommunications Engineering, Statistics, Systems Engineering and Operations Research.

Integrated Virtual Networks

IVN  solutions enable immersive virtual conferencing via the web at real-time frame rates with synchronized audio in a highly realistic virtual world. Capturing live video images from arbitrary background environment, then streaming the captured video over the web and transplanting the captured  video into computer generated 3D virtual and augmented reality environments.

IVN is collaborating with Web3D consortium members and believe using Web3D standard will benefit their AR/VR solutions. IVN is looking forward to playing an influential role in the evolution of Web3D Standards

The NIH 3D Print Exchange is a collaborative effort led by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases in collaboration with the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute for Child Health and Human Development and the National Library of Medicine

Smithsonian Institution the world's largest museum, education, and research complex. A community of learning and discovery. Smithsonian Institute has joined the Web3D Consortium to evolve the open standards and solutions for cultural and natural heritage. As Web3D distribution channels mature, there is considerable interest in improving the handling and interactive display of digital artifacts and their metadata.
