Need a qualitative description of each level. Does the H-Anim specification have a short description in the H-Animation specification because it is not is Annex A. We need working list of the discrepancies between the candidate reference skeletons (of all bones and joints) to each Level of Articulation in the H-Anim specification 1.1 and proposed changes. Don asked Joe Williams to draft a definitive section for the specification update with references to figures to explain the LOA differences and advantages in terms of human motion.

Revision as of 20:25, 4 December 2013

Attendees: Myeong Won Lee, Dick Puk, Joe Williams, William Glascoe and Kwan Hee Yoo. Don Brutzman (dialed in 9:09 PM Eastern)

Agenda : Minutes

1. Hands and Feet animation

All the discussion is with respect to H-Anim specification 1.1

The hand joint-segment hierarchy diagram needs to be modified in accordance to Kwan Lee’s proposal.

Kwan Lee’s proposed model of the hand fits in LOA3, according to Joe. Joe considers the new joints and segments a refinement, not a new model.

Don reviewed the work Joe and he made yesterday.

Don asked Kwan Hee Yoo if he found any conflicts with the hand and foot models to achieve completeness. Kwan Hee Yoo connection was lost so he couldn’t answer.

The labels for joints and segments need to be the consistent between the H-Anim spec 1.1 and proposed changes to it. (Don)

Dick reminded the group there are no metadata nodes in H-Anim so we should consider if they are needed. Don will propose metadata conventions for the H-Anim. Specification. The X3D specification has metadata nodes.

2. Level Of Articulation (LOA) 1, 2, 3 and 4

   Names for joints and segments

What is the neck? The skullbase joint is the neck joint.

   LOA diagram(s)

Need a qualitative description of each level. Does the H-Anim specification have a short description in the H-Animation specification because it is not is Annex A. We need working list of the discrepancies between the candidate reference skeletons (of all bones and joints) to each Level of Articulation in the H-Anim specification 1.1 and proposed changes. Don asked Joe Williams to draft a definitive section for the specification update with references to figures to explain the LOA differences and advantages in terms of human motion.
