Hi Carol,
This is what I put on the wearables wiki.
Let's try and tune this up to be a concise
statement about DFW targets.
Notice no mention of the range of
virtual wearables and identification.
Thanks and Best,
Joe

Humaniod Accessory Fashion
  or Utility implementation            is a
      Digital Wearable.For convenience we can call it a Coveroid. Coveroid = The Digital WearableIt is a virtual representation of a wearable accessorythat becomes integrated with (worn by) a virtualrepresentation of a Humanoid. The Humanoid has an External Surface that can includethe Near Environment that can intersect with theHumanoid external surface. The Humanoid includesglTF coordinate system with surface feature point
measurement dimensions that are declared with
reference to 0 0 0 at default source pose.This information may be used to find relative measurements between certain Humanoid surface feature point locations at various defined Humanoid pose. Wearable means Coveroid internal surface interactswith virtual Humanoid external surface andnear environment. Digital Wearables supplier will be encouraged to dimensionthe Wearable fit points using comparable Humanoid surfacefeature locations in various poses.
Humanoid character supplier will be encouraged to
dimension the Humanoid surface feature locations
using comparable Wearable fit points.
  Wearable accessory external surface becomesthe Humanoid external surface.So, in basic concepts, standardizing the Coveroidcan be thought of using same paths as for standardizingthe Humanoid Character/Avatar but in some technical waysthe Coveroid may be more more complex than the Humanoid. For example the Coveroid fit process may include a specializedAI feature that can take control of the Humanoid to acquiremeasurement data using various poses. Thanks and Best,Joe
