Let me drop out while the implementers discuss this.  I'm sitting here with
the flu and shouldn't get into a serious discussion while medicated into
numbdumb.

I do think there is a good case for using an X3D profile for this.

no worries!  I just don't like to beat around the bush.  :-)

My requirements, in rough order of priority go something like:

a) accelerated, cross-platform, royalty-free runtime

b) IDE support

c) binary/small footprint persistence

d) SAI from network-aware code

e) everything else
