Re: [x3d-public] dedicated working-group focus on X3D interoperability

Hi Joshua;

Are you suggesting that X3D not support triangulated meshes (indexed face sets)?

No, IndexedFaceSets are a "basic" geometry. I was meaning the

        IndexedTriangleFanSet
        IndexedTriangleSet
        IndexedTriangleStripSet
        TriangleFanSet
        TriangleStripSet
        TriangleSet
        Arc2D
        ArcClose2D
        Circle2D
        Disk2D
        Polyline2D
        Polypoint2D
        Rectangle2D
        TriangleSet2D
(and probably others - these are off the top of my head)

nodes in particular. These are just subsets of "more commonly used" nodes.
(sorry about the confusion - I meant "*Triangle" as in the name, not function)

I think that the question should be "how can we handle output from authoring tools"
rather than "how can we make it easy for people to hand-code".

Joshua; it's just my opinion. I have seen output from authoring tools that makes
*everything* IndexedFaceSets - even Spheres and Cones - which may be too
extreme.

What do you think??
