Subject: [SLED] Quick note on the existence 3D/VR Standards
Hey folks,
Recently, there have been several announcements regarding Second Life and IBM as well as other partnerships. In these various project announcements, and via other tech pundits, there have been references to a lack of 3D/VR standardization on the net. I just wanted to be sure that folks understand that these statements are incorrect. VRML has had a successor for a while now, it's called X3D. It is in fact a registered web standard that has a very active working group as well as a lot of active developers.
just wanted to be sure everyone is on the same page -- so we can work together.
