My prediction: Microsoft will win the Web 3D war. Who's going to sell
that technology to Microsoft?
Do we really want a Web 3D? Microsoft will control the market by requiring
that your content be signed by Microsoft, just like they've done with the Xbox.
And the hardware people will sign up when Microsoft threatens that their hardware
won't run the latest 3D content.
I vote for open standards. Let's get X3D into mozilla/firefox, and make Microsoft
compete.
Oh, you don't use mozilla? Well, that's a problem!
