I'd be happy to remove scripting from X3D files, but people would scream
bloody murder. Levels of the X3D spec are data only, but the higher
levels do have a complete runtime. I don't think you could provide
everything X3D does in a totally declarative fashion(ok, I have seen
declaractive programming languages but they scare me).
I'd suggest that X3D Interactive is the level we should push industry
for adoptance as baseline importer/exporter. Beyond that range you are
likely taking native X3D tools.
