[www-vrml] Xj3D Bat Problem Revealed
First, sorry for posting to the main list, though it may be of some use for
those trying to use Xj3DM10.
Alan, I get this failure with: giles@yumetech.com
The following addresses had delivery problems:
<giles@yumetech.com>
Permanent Failure:

C:\> java -version
java version "1.4.2_05"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_05-b04)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2_05-b04, mixed mode)
Second:
I methodically disassembled the .bat file and added
each jar path to the classpath and restested until
I found the "critical point" that caused the "bad
command or file name" error.
The problem is strange.
It occurs approximatly around column 594.
At first it occured with the immediate preceeding path:
"jars/xj3d-external-sai.jar;"
As an experiment/hunch I renamed it and
the jar:
"jars/xj3d-external_sai.jar;"
That worked!
I tried adding more paths but with no luck.
I keep getting:
"bad command or file name"
I tried changing the memory allocations on the
bat file, but that did not work either.
Finally, I would like to pointout that while M9
worked on my system, I had class path failures
on the V-Net experiment and "xj3d-java-sai.jar"
contains that class and it is just beyond column
594
thanx
