Re: [www-vrml] [xVRML] new screen snapshots and the future
Hi Jeff. Glad you are happy with your project progress.
I'm hoping you might clarify what your project goals are.
From the xVRML sourceforge page:
Project to develop xVRML specs & related s/w tech.
VRML97 put 3D worlds on the net & xVRML evolves it
w/ Schema-based re-definition. Schema forms base
for spec docs & model of the data in a VR world,
as well as dev of tech-demo app & plugin s/w.
As you likely know, we have an XML encoding for X3D and Classic VRML,
the .x3d file format. We also have both XML DTD and XML Schema to
independently validate these .x3d scenes.
Am wondering if design of a Relax-NG schema for this same .x3d encoding
would answer some of your goals.
Past that, it is not clear whether you want to reproduce various
aspects of VRML-like functionality, general-purpose VR, or what.
Thanks for all insight.
all the best, Don
