[www-vrml] ANN: 3dgraphics.about.com Shutdown

Hello to all,

I am sad to announce that About.com has eliminated the
3dgraphics.about.com site, along with a number of other sites, for
failure to generate sufficient advertising dollars. 

According to the management at About.com, even though the 3dgraphics site
was growing quickly and had over 425,000 page views last month (close to
an all-time high for the site), that growth was not as important as the
fact that the site was of little interest to advertisers.

As you can tell, I am very disappointed, but Leonard and I
have decided to put our energy back into the e3D News
(www.e3dnews.com)
site. I have already put some of the free model indexes from 3dgraphics
onto the e3D News site and we will soon have a news blog on the front
page.
