that also needs admin priviledges for the user I think, since it installs it
in the registry (at HKEY\LOCAL_MACHINE\Classes or something)

there might be some trick for a container to load the ActiveX DLL (.OCX) and
call it directly instead of asking the system to instantiate it from info
located in the registry. However that would mean the container contains
knowledge about that control or can read some description file about that
control in order to load it (instead of asking the system to look for such
info in the registry). I'm very interested in any way to circumvent this and
temporarily register some ActiveX control for a user or something like that
to fool an application and have it use it from CD directly without info
about that control being installed in the system registry. E.g. clients of
my QTVRControlX (ActiveX control for QuickTime and QuickTimeVR) were asking
if I could provide such a technology for their application to use Acrobat
Reader's ActiveX control without having to install it first
