well if I remember well, the GNU org guys are making a C# -> native code
compiler that is independent of a runtime like .NET or mono

such a compiler will target the native OS APIs of course, so not useless at
all. A very good alternative to the ugly (in my opinion and its original
creator's too) C++ language

However I prefer VB.net, Object Pascal (Delphi8 for .net) and Java (or J# on
.net) from C#, don't know for sure why...
