Hi,
some time ago, there was a project started (by Philippe Bekaert et al)
to extend vrml97 for physical correct models as needed in (light)
simulation. This is a quite mature project now (PhBRML, XRML). Is there
anyone working on something similar, but x3d-based? I am just wondering
because there are existing rendering-languages in xml, which could more
easily interface to such an x3d-based format (one of these is my slowly
developing xslt-set to get the radiance scene language represented in
xml, www.sourceforge.net/projects/radianceml). And I would really like
to keep models in x3d, using it not only as an output (one-way) format
for browsers.
For those involved in vrml-2 vs x3d discussions...: I want an
xml-format, as I like to use xslt's and have a lot of other
xml-formatted data. Of course I could use the existing vrml-97 based
solution just for the model.
CU Lars.
