You forgot my favorite, VI.

Take foo.wrl VRML File:

Change Header to #X3D V3.0 utf8
Add PROFILE Immersive

Change all eventIns,eventOut,field,exposedField to new X3D names
Change javascript to ecmascript

save as foo.x3dv

Handles most files.  Its not exactly correct but its pretty close.
