The preliminary draft V3.3 amendment for the Abstract X3D Specification.

 

X3D V3.3 includes changes/updates for the following:

  • Units statement allowing the base units of angle, force, length, and mass to be defined. Note that time is not a definable unit.
  • Clarification of a number of nodes, fields, and concepts; including MultiTexture, NavigationInfo, SpotLight, and GeoSpatial component.
  • New component for 3D visualization support (3D Volume rendering, 3D textures, etc.) to support DICOM requirements. This work also includes a new profile - MedicalInterchange that collects the appropriate component functionality together.
