This project was created for the X3Diamond competition. It leverages and showcases X3D real-time technology to simulate a brilliant round diamond. The diamond can be viewed loose (on its own), within a cathedral style ring setting and on a female hand model. Most of the diamond’s characteristics can be modified in real-time including size, facets, color grade, etc. It uses shaders for the metal and a diamond shader with reflection, refraction and dispersion (front and back faces). You can view the simulation using BS Contact VRML/X3D 6.2.
