The new SimVentive toolkit gives designers of instructional ("serious") games the ability to create training simulations and to define the behavior of characters and objects that populate those simulations, all without programming.  It includes a Scenario Player, Scenario Editor, and Scenario Debugger. The Rapid User Interface provides a palette of drag and drop user interface widgets.  The “3D widget” renders 3D images using the Java 3D library and uses Xj3D to import X3D and VRML 2.0 files.  The widget can receive method invocations to change the view point.  The widget can notify the rest of the SimVentive application, via sending an “event” object, when the user clicks on a named 3D object. In addition to UI, the toolkit also speeds and simplifies the creation of simulation objects and simulation behavior.
