Post Pointing Device Sensor Component needs to be clarified.
Hello!

I am implementing the Pointing Device Sensor Component for H3D API and I have some questions about the specification.

In section 20.2.1 this is claimed:
Quote:
If there are multiple pointing-device sensors tied for lowest, each of these is activated simultaneously and independently, possibly resulting in multiple sensors activating and generating output simultaneously. This feature allows combinations of pointing-device sensors (e.g., TouchSensor and PlaneSensor).

Then in the section for each of the sensors that can be implemented this is claimed:
Quote:
When the sensor generates an isActive TRUE event, it grabs all further motion events from the pointing device until it is released and generates an isActive FALSE event (other pointing-device sensors shall not generate events during this time).

For me this seems like a contradiction. So my question is:
It is possible for more than one sensor to be active (isActive = true ) at the same time, and if so, in which cases.

Looks like a contradiction to me. Not sure exactly which way Xj3D comes
down on the issue.

Please file this issue for the x3d group to resolve:

http://www.web3d.org/x3d/specifications/spec_feedback

I'd recommend bringing it up at one of the X3D group meetings.

In testimonial to a conflict existing, I have a MS wireless KBD and Mouse connected simultaneously with a wired KBD and Mouse. xj3d is having difficulties deciding what events are taking place constantly flipping corrdinate reporting from one value set to another. I have another near identical machine with just the MS wireless KBD and Mouse attached and there are no such difficulties.

Hope this helps...
