Web3D Consortium Members/Outreach Meeting
Overview
Web3D Consortium members and guest are cordially invited to participate in our Members meeting, to be held at NASA Ames Research Center - Bldg 943 Eagle Room in Moffett Field, California. NASA Ames has graciously agreed to be our host for this meeting on Wednesday March 4th 2009 from 12:00 Noon to 5:30 PM. Attendance is open only to Web3D Consortium Members, and invited guests. If you wish to attend or need more information please contact Web3D Executive Director anita.havele@web3d.org.
The meeting will feature presentations by Web3D technologists and members of the Web3D Consortium board of directors, and a X3D Plugfest. Our invited guest speaker is Jay Cee Straley from Sprint, who will present us his insight on Web3D technology and standards for the mobile platform. We will also be seeking member input into our campaigns for the year ahead and help in formulating plans for the advancement of the X3D standard and the Consortium. There is no charge for members and invited guests to attend. Lunch and light refreshments will be provided.
Web3D Consortium members are also invited to participate in our next X3D Earth Working Group meeting, to be held at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute in Moss Landing, California on Thursday and Friday, March 5th and 6th 2009. Driving Directions from Local Airports and Locations to NASA Ames Research Center
From: San Francisco International Airport (SFO)
Drive: Approximately 25 mi
Directions:
1. From airport, merge onto US-101 S.
2. Take the MOFFETT BLVD exit ¬ - EXIT 398A - toward NASA PKWY
3. Turn right at Moffett Blvd and drive straight ahead to the Main Gate of NASA Ames Research Center
4. Just before reaching the Guard at the Main Gate, there is a STOP Sign. Turn RIGHT here (do not proceed to the Guard) and drive to a parking lot behind the NASA Exploration Center - a big, white, tent-like building. The workshop will be held in the Eagle Room in Bldg 943 (PAO Building) immediately in front, and a little to the right, of the parking lot, adjacent to the NASA Exploration Center.
From: Monterey
Drive: Approximately 82 mi
Directions:
1. Head north on CA-1
2. Continue north on to CA-156
3. Merge on to US-101 North toward San Francisco
4. Take exit 9B on the left to merge onto US-101 N toward San Francisco
5. Take exit 398 for MOFFETT BLVD toward NASA PKWY
6. Turn right at Moffett Blvd and drive straight ahead to the Main Gate of NASA Ames Research Center

Drive: Approximately 11.0 mi
Directions:
1. Head southeast on Airport Blvd
2. Turn left to stay on Airport Blvd
3. Take the Skyport Dr. ramp on the left to CA-87/US-101/Downtown
4. Keep left at the fork to continue toward CA-87N/Guadalupe Pkwy and merge onto CA-87 N/Guadalupe Pkwy
5. Take exit 9B on the left to merge onto US-101 N toward San Francisco
6. Take exit 398 for MOFFETT BLVD toward NASA PKWY
7. Turn right at Moffett Blvd and drive straight ahead to the Main Gate of NASA Ames Research Center
