Bitmanagements BS Contact 3D Engine to support Collada

Collada has mainly been designed as a container for 3D data and is mostly used an intermediary exchange format for 3D authoring tools, primarily in the games market. Hence, interactivity, animations with time sensors and behaviours of Collada models need the help of an interactive X3D rendering engine such as BS Contact. In addition the dissemination of high quality Collada content requires an internet ready 3D viewer.

Using inline nodes in BS Contact VRML/X3D you can now upload Collada geometry files into X3D scenes combining the behaviour rich interactivity of the X3D standard with a content bridge to Collada. Authoring your interactive X3D scences such as multi-user environments around collada content is unchanged. Together with the BS Contact viewer and the tools of Bitmanagement the X3D and Collada folks can now build professional interactive games and realtime internet applications and deploy them anywhere on the Web and DVD by using BS Contact from Bitmanagement.
